What the SJCC is

The Super Junior and Cadet Circuit sits between regional competition and the national cups for junior and cadet fencers. It is where many fencers get their first taste of a deep national-level cadet field, and results there feed the points picture that shapes the rest of the season.

Both cadet saber titles

Charlotte Choi and Royce Zhao took Cadet Women's Saber and Cadet Men's Saber. Cadet saber at this level is fast, close and often decided in the last few touches — which is exactly why adaptability, the theme USA Fencing used for the day, is the right word for it. A cadet who can change plan mid-bout beats a cadet with one good action.

The development picture behind these names

Fencers reaching a cadet or junior SJCC final have usually been training several times a week for years, with private lessons layered on top of group classes and regular bouting. The structure matters more than the volume: lessons that build decision-making, group work that builds footwork and conditioning, and enough competition to make pressure familiar.
