Regional walls come down for Junior and Cadet

Junior and Cadet fencers can now earn regional points at regional events anywhere in the country, not only inside their own region. For a DMV saber family that opens up events that previously did not count toward a fencer's regional points.

The in-region protection window

There is a balance built in: for RJCC and ROC events, an in-region protection window covers the first three weeks of registration. In-region fencers get first claim on entries before the field opens more broadly, so travelling entrants do not crowd out local fencers.

SJCC point values

USA Fencing confirmed the value of a Summer Junior/Cadet Championships (SJCC) win: 120 points for Junior and 90 points for Cadet.

How Junior and Cadet values relate to Division I

The structure scales by category: Junior values are 80% of Division I values, and Cadet values are 60%. That single ratio explains most of the difference families see when comparing results across categories.
