USA Fencing Regional Calendars: 181 Events Across Two Seasons
Published
Regional tournaments are where most saber fencers actually compete: shorter drives, lower cost, and real strip time against unfamiliar opponents. USA Fencing has now published two full seasons of regional calendars at the same time, which is a first. All details below come from the official USA Fencing release.

Two seasons released together for the first time
Instead of waiting for next spring to learn where the following season's regionals land, families can now see two years ahead. That matters for anything booked far in advance: school breaks, travel, and a fencer's long-term competition plan.
What the 2026–27 calendar looks like
The 2026–27 regional season lists 90 tournaments across 28 weekends. It opens Aug. 22, 2026, in Tigard, Oregon, and closes May 9, 2027, in La Jolla, California.
What the 2027–28 calendar looks like
The following season adds one more event: 91 tournaments across 28 weekends, again opening in Tigard, Oregon, on Aug. 21, 2027.
181 events across 23 states
Together the two calendars cover 181 regional tournaments in 23 states. For DMV-area saber fencers that means a steady supply of regional competition within reasonable driving distance, which is the cheapest way to build experience before committing to national travel.
How to register
Registration for regional events runs through member.usafencing.org. Your fencer needs a current USA Fencing membership at the right level first — see our guide to USA Fencing membership for saber.
What saber families should do next
- Pick two or three regional events per season rather than chasing every weekend.
- Confirm membership status early; registration closes before the event, not at the door.
- Read how USA Fencing points work so you know which regional results affect ranking.
- If it is your fencer's first event, start with how to enter your first saber tournament.
