The November NAC moves to Columbus
The November North American Cup takes place Nov. 20–23, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio. That places it roughly six weeks after the October NAC, which gives fencers one solid training cycle between national events rather than a scramble.
January NAC and Junior Olympics in Oklahoma City
The January national event combines a NAC with the Junior Olympic Championships in Oklahoma City, Jan. 8–11, 2027. For cadet and junior saber fencers this is usually the biggest domestic date of the winter, and pairing it with a NAC means one trip instead of two.
The October NAC was already on the calendar
The season opener in Orlando, Oct. 9–12, 2026, had already been announced. Read our guides to how the Elite and Challenger split works and to NAC eligibility points minimums and rating floors before you register for it.
Why Junior Olympics stays in January
USA Fencing has said Junior Olympics will remain a January event through 2028 in order to avoid a conflict with the international competition calendar. Practically, that means families can expect the JO slot in early January to be stable for the next several seasons rather than shifting year to year.
What saber families should do next
- Block Nov. 20–23, 2026 and Jan. 8–11, 2027 on your family calendar before school commitments fill in.
- Check your fencer's points and rating status against the eligibility requirements well before registration opens for each event.
- Plan a training block, not just a trip. Six weeks between October and November is enough time for real technical work with a coach.

Train for the national calendar in Bethesda
Saber Nation is a saber-only club at 4701 Sangamore Road, Suite LL2, Bethesda, MD 20816. Group lessons meet Monday and Wednesday, 4:45 PM to 6:15 PM, and Saturday, 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
