Fencing Camps — Bethesda, MD

Saber Nation does not have scheduled fencing camps on the calendar at the moment. Rather than list dates that do not exist, this page tells you what is actually available now and how to be first to hear when a camp is announced.

Year-round saber training does run continuously at the Bethesda salle: group classes three days a week, open fencing, and private lessons. For most families that covers the school break period anyway.

Current camp status

There are no published camp dates, camp prices, or camp venues. If you have seen a Saber Nation camp listed elsewhere, contact the club and confirm before paying anything.

When a camp is scheduled it will be announced on this page, on TeamUp, and to the club mailing list, with real dates, a real price, and the Bethesda address. Until then, treat anything else as unconfirmed.

Join the camp interest list

To be notified first, email info@sabernation.com or call (301) 200-1853 and say which age group and which part of the year would suit you. Winter break, spring break, and summer requests are all tracked separately.

That list is also what determines whether a camp happens. Camps run when there is enough interest in a specific week, so telling the club what you need genuinely affects the schedule.

What is available right now

Group lessons run year round for ages 6 through adult. New students start with the Beginners Introductory Package, eight sessions for $120, one time only, which is often a good fit for a family testing the sport over a school break.

Members train in the Development Program at $195 per month once a week or $325 per month twice a week, or Monthly Unlimited at $425 per month for tournament preparation. Adults 18 and over and college varsity fencers train at $195 per month. Drop-in group class is $45 and open fencing is $25, complimentary for members.

Private lessons in 20-minute and 30-minute formats, individually or as ten-lesson packages, are available at member and non-member rates. During a school break, several private lessons in one week is the closest thing to camp-style intensity, and it is fully coached one to one.

Visiting fencers and out-of-town families

Fencers visiting the DC area can use drop-in group class and open fencing to keep training without joining a membership. Email ahead so a coach knows to expect you and can place you in a suitable group.

Loaner masks, jackets, gloves, and sabers are available, so a visiting fencer travelling light can still get strip time. Sabre technique varies between clubs, and coaches will slot a visitor into the group that matches their level.

Group lessons meet Monday and Wednesday, 4:45 PM to 6:15 PM, and Saturday, 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, at the Bethesda salle, 4701 Sangamore Road, Suite LL2.

All training is at the single Bethesda salle. There is no second venue and no off-site camp location.
