USA Fencing Partners with Chief Executive Group to Bring Fencing into Boardrooms

USA Fencing announced a partnership with Chief Executive Group aimed at introducing the sport to America's boardrooms.

What the partnership involves

Under the agreement, USA Fencing will provide speakers, athletes and hands-on fencing experiences at four Chief Executive Group conferences. The first conference named is the Finance & Accounting Technology Expo.

The stated goal

The partnership is intended to introduce fencing to thousands of corporate executives and board directors over the next year.

Why fencing translates well to an executive audience

Fencing is one of the few sports where the physical demand and the decision-making demand are inseparable. A bout is a sequence of fast reads under pressure: distance, timing, commitment, and the willingness to change a plan mid-action. Put a group of executives behind a mask for twenty minutes and the sport explains itself.

That is also why fencing works as an adult activity rather than only a youth one. It rewards attention and problem-solving as much as raw athleticism, and progress is visible quickly.

Fencing as an adult sport

Adults start fencing for different reasons than children: fitness that does not feel like a gym, a skill to learn from scratch, a competitive outlet that works on a weekly schedule. National competition exists for adults too, through Division events and the veteran age categories, which run from Vet-40 upward.
